CVA is currently seeking a Part-Time Community Registered Nurse (CRN). We seek a team member who shares our core values of compassion, accountability, respect, responsibility, and encouragement. This is a rewarding opportunity supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

The Community Registered Nurse (CRN) has extensive in-state travel responsibilities within an assigned region, via personally-owned vehicle (POV), to monitor the health of individuals receiving services in Host Home programs. Overnight travel is rare.

The Community Registered Nurse (CRN):

  • Monitors the health of individuals receiving services in Host Home programs.
  • Develops plans to ensure that the medical and health care needs of individuals are met. This responsibility includes:
    • Ensuring appropriate medical follow-up.
    • Providing nursing delegations related to medical diagnosis, allergies, medication, diet and special emergency plans related to ongoing medical conditions.
    • Coordinating and reviewing lab work.
    • Coordinating care with clinics, outside physicians and hospitals.
    • Health and nutrition review and teaching.
    • Medication Administration and other Staff training as assigned.
    • Follows up on health-related concerns as identified by the Department of Mental Health RN.
  • Complete documentation and filing.
  • Present a positive image and attitude when representing CVA.
  • Completes the medical sections of the Individual Support Plans and Quarterly Reviews that address health and illness needs and issues.
  • Documents services in accordance with agency policy and requirements associated with Medicaid and Department of Mental Health Certification and Contractual compliance.
  • Promotes resident empowerment and self-care activities including self-medication.
  • Track, and request reimbursement for mileage monthly

Skill Requirements

  • Must possess a valid RN nursing license for the State of Missouri
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Zoom, MS Teams, Skype or other video communication software
  • Positive, collaborative attitude
  • Professional and courteous business communication
  • Independent and collaborative work
  • Licensed and insured driver with reliable vehicle

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to drive, sit, or stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift, move, push or pull, and potentially assist in positioning or transfers of Individuals to and from furniture or equipment.
  • Must be able to spend extended time viewing a computer screen, and typing on a keyboard.
  • Must be able to perform CPR.

Educational Requirements:

Valid Missouri Registered Nursing License (RN)

Salary: $21.10 /hour. Wage will be commensurate with experience and education of the successful applicant.

Schedule/Availability: Typically, Day time hours with some schedule flexibility. Requires on-call availability and travel.

Travel: Travel and dependable vehicle with valid car insurance are required. This position has extensive in-state travel responsibilities to multiple Host Home programs including the Springfield, Columbia, Jefferson City, and Kansas City areas.
