Chariton Valley Association is seeking a Full-Time Professional Manager to oversee programs in Kirksville and surrounding Northeast Missouri Areas. The Professional Manager provides oversight to ISL programs supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. Responsibilities assigned to this position include quality enhancement monitoring, direct plan implementation, monitoring implementation of outcomes, establishing and working with existing information collection systems, writing monthly reviews documenting individual progress of individuals supported and quality oversight of all of the host homes they are assigned.

As a Professional Manager, you will:

  • Manages the daily program activities and habilitation services of the programs assigned to them.
  • Works closely with the Program Director, Lead Support Professional, and Human Resources Manager with all facets of personnel.
  • Works closely with the Program Director for new program development.
  • Oversight and management of the following DMH Services : Community Employment, Day Services, ISL Out of Home Respite and Personal Assistance.
  • Oversee monthly DSP staffing meetings, conduct by the Lead Support Professional.
  • Works closely with Lead Support Professionals and Program Director in the oversight of program services.
  • Has a presence in the new hire process, oversees schedules, ensures proper training, and evaluates the performance of Lead Support Professionals.
  • Participates in the annual person-centered planning process for the individuals supported and coordinates the implementation of the goals as determined in the individual plan.
  • Develops training plans and data sheets to guide staff in the implementation and documentation of the individual's annual IP objectives and monitors for progress.
  • Serves as a quality assurance monitor for the program, identifying areas of concern and cooperating in the planning to alleviate any problems, evaluating the results, and responding appropriately.
  • Acts as a liaison to parents or guardians to foster parental/guardian organizing and encouraging participation in program planning and events.
  • Works closely with Service Coordinator and staff to ensure an effective working relationship that is beneficial to the individuals as well as the agency.
  • Works with professional therapy services for the coordination and implementation of individual therapy programs.
  • Coordinates programming with school personnel for individuals supported through the local school district.
  • Works closely with local and non-local quality review teams to ensure compliance with program regulations.
  • Participates in on call rotation with other Professional Managers and staff to provide support to field staff.
  • Professionally Represent CVA with the local Department of Mental Health Regional Offices, Senate Bill 40 organizations and MO Children's Division.

 

Essential Functions 

  • Ability to read and follow directions, and to accurately report and record information.
  • Ability to read, understand, and implement the policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate in a positive manner, both in writing and verbally, with supervisors, co-workers, and individuals served by the organization.
  • Ability to complete job duties without close supervision.
  • Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration Certification.
  • Ability to be flexible with the work schedule and to accept or adapt to changes in assignments, methods, and policies.
  • Ability to reflect a positive image of the organization in all interactions with the general public.
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of care and support for individuals served by the Chariton Valley Association.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in the use of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to pass all required background screenings.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment as well as persons' homes and the community. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

Travel:

Daily travel is required to perform job duties. The amount of travel required will vary day to day.

Chariton Valley Association will reimburse travel expenses at the rate of $.40 cents per mile for out of town trips. 

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a Full-Time position. All Full time positions at CVA offers a full range of benefits including sick, vacation, holiday pay as well as health, dental, vision, life insurance, and supplemental insurance options.  Hours of work are typically Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM however, there is an expectation that the Professional Manager will be flexible with their schedule to meet the needs of the clients supported. This position will also have on-call responsibilities.

 

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Business, personnel, clinical or health administration expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or relevant experience which must be 5 years working in the field of developmental disabilities with at least 3 years supervisory experience. 

 

Preferred Requirements:

Three years or more direct management experience including programming, program development, preferably with a non-profit agency in the field of developmental disabilities. Bachelor's degree or related coursework from a human services field is desirable including human behavior, human development, cultural development, or any other study of services related to basic human care needs or the human condition.
