Chariton Valley Association is seeking a Full-Time Professional Manager to oversee Host Homes in the areas of Springfield, Columbia, and Kansas City Missouri. The Professional Manager provides oversight to host home providers supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. Responsibilities assigned to this position include quality enhancement monitoring, direct plan implementation, monitoring implementation of outcomes, establishing and working with existing information collection systems, writing monthly reviews documenting individual progress of individuals supported and quality oversight of all of the host homes they are assigned.

As a Professional Manager, you will:

  • Manage the daily host home activities and habilitation services of the host homes in your region.
  • Work closely with the Program Director for new program development.
  • Participate in the annual person-centered planning process for the individuals supported and coordinate the implementation of the goals as determined in the individual plan.
  • Serve as a quality assurance monitor for the host home, identifying areas of concern and cooperate in the planning to alleviate any problems, evaluate the results, and respond appropriately.
  • Work closely with local and non-local authorities to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Travel daily to monitor all host homes in your region.

Essential Functions 

  • Ability to read and follow directions, and to accurately report and record information.
  • Ability to read, understand, and implement the policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate in a positive manner, both in writing and verbally, with supervisors, co-workers, and individuals served by the organization.
  • Ability to complete job duties without close supervision.
  • Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration Certification.
  • Ability to be flexible with the work schedule and to accept or adapt to changes in assignments, methods, and policies.
  • Ability to reflect a positive image of the organization in all interactions with the general public.
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of care and support for individuals served by the Chariton Valley Association.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in the use of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to pass all required background screenings.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment as well as persons' homes and the community. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

Travel:

Daily travel is required to perform job duties. The amount of travel required will vary day to day.

Chariton Valley Association will reimburse travel expenses at the rate of $.40 cents per mile.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a Full-Time position. All Full time positions at CVA offers a full range of benefits including sick, vacation, holiday pay as well as health, dental, vision, life insurance, and supplemental insurance options.  Hours of work are typically Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM however, there is an expectation that the Professional Manager will be flexible with their schedule to meet the needs of the clients supported. This position will also have on-call responsibilities.

 

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Business, personnel, clinical or health administration expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or relevant experience which must be 5 years working in the field of developmental disabilities with at least 3 years supervisory experience. 

 

Preferred Requirements:

Three years or more direct management experience including programming, program development, preferably with a non-profit agency in the field of developmental disabilities. Bachelor's degree or related coursework from a human services field is desirable including human behavior, human development, cultural development, or any other study of services related to basic human care needs or the human condition.
